 Samuel Finley Breese Morse ( 1791 – April 2, 1872) was an American contributor to the inventiontelegraph system based on European telegraphs, co-inventor of the Morse code, and an accomplished painter.
 
An important application is signalling for help through SOS, "· · · — — — · · ·". This can be sent many ways: keying a radio on and off, flashing a mirror, toggling a flashlight and similar methods.
In the Addams family, hero of the film in the form of separated hand, in case of emergency conveys hismessage, tapping them in Morse code.
